Safeguarding:

The care and protection of children, young people and adults involved in Church activities is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the Church.

This parish recognises that the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is paramount and that we have a duty of care when they are in our charge. We will do everything that we can to provide a safe and caring environment whilst they attend our activities.

We will:

  • Treat all children, young people and vulnerable adults and groups with respect and celebrate their achievements.

  • Ensure all volunteers are trained in safeguarding issues and those with specific roles in working children, young people and vulnerable adults have had the necessary safeguarding checks carried.

  • Respond to concerns and allegations without delay in accordance with Diocesan Safeguarding procedures.
  • IF YOU ARE CONCERNED that someone you know is at risk of, or is being abused, or presents a risk to others, please seek advice from the Parish Safeguarding Officer or member of the clergy (see contact details) or if necessary report the matter to the Local Authority Social Care Services or the Police without delay.

More information on how you can report any safeguarding concerns is available from The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich at https://www.cofesuffolk.org/safeguarding
