News including St George Parade Service & next Messy Church

Dear friends,

Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
Romans 6:8

The service (including annual meetings) from Sunday is now available on the St John's YouTube channel.

The 10:30am service next Sunday is a special all age Parade Service celebrating St George's Day and we will be welcoming members of the uniformed organisations. There is also a short service of Holy Communion at 9:00am.

A thanksgiving service for her life of Anice Webb is at St John's on Thursday 30 April at 12:30pm. Anice had requested people do not wear black, but brighter colours.

A message from Caroline Long:
Our next Messy Church event for children and families, Sing and Celebrate, takes place in church on Sunday 10 May at 3.30pm.

If you are interested in coming along to help in any of a number of ways – music/singing, supporting with crafts, welcoming or serving the refreshments, please have a chat with Caroline or Peter.

We have some printed/laminated posters for the event and if you happen to have a good spot in a window, or maybe on a fence or driveway to help with the advertising these are available from Caroline. Thank you so much.

As part of the important Messy Church aspect of hospitality, we will be offering refreshments to all those who come along and we are hoping for some donations of cakes or cookies for the event. These can be either homemade or shop bought. If you feel able to help with this, please add your name to the list at the back of church. Any donated items can be dropped at church on the morning of 10 May or collection can be easily arranged.

Thank you so much for your support.

Caroline

Men's Breakfast 25 April 8:30am. If you would like to come, please sign up at the back of church or email Peter

Please note there is no prayer meeting this Saturday.

In Christ,

Peter
