St John's News - 17 January 2026

Dear friends,

'The one who stands firm to the end will be saved.'
Mark 13:12

If you missed Sunday's service and the talk on Mark 13, please catch up on our YouTube channel.

At next Sunday's service, we will be looking at how different people will be remembered for how they responded to Jesus in the early part of chapter 14 of Mark's Gospel. The service will include the Lord's Supper. Sunday School will be hearing about another amazing miracle of Jesus.

Thank you to everybody who helped with the Messy Church Pancake Party earlier today. It was a wonderful occasion to see so many young families at the church. In total there were 34 adults and 34 children.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. There will be a service at 5:00pm which will include the imposition of ashes.

The next Ladies Brunch will be on Saturday 14 March at 10:30am with guest speaker Brenda Webb. Please sign up at the back of church or email Lisa or Amanda if you would like to come.

A Basic Life Support Training course is taking place on Saturday 7th March from 9:00am to noon in the church room. This course is provided free of charge. If you would like to join this course, please add your name to the list at the back of the church or contact Caroline Long or Peter.
