Dear friends,
Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9Thank you to everyone who brought donations of food to our Harvest Festival on Sunday. These will be passed onto the Stowmarket & Area Foodbank. A big thank you also to those who decorated the church so beautifully. If you missed the service, catch up on the St John's
YouTube channel.
Our service next Sunday is Holy Communion and we begin a sermon series looking at the opening chapters of the Bible. Sunday School will be meeting during the service, continuing to follow the adventures of Abraham.

The next Ladies Brunch is on Saturday 25 October at 10:30am. Pam Millyard will be sharing some of her poems connected to the church year. Please sign up at the back of church.
On Saturday 1 November at 3:00pm, we are holding a special event called A Time To Remember & A Time To Give Thanks at St John’s. This short service marks the passing of loved ones and honours their memory. The service includes readings, hymns, the reading out of the names of those we are remembering, and the lighting of candles. The service is followed by some refreshments. All those who have faced bereavement are invited to attend.
The online weekly church prayer meeting is on Zoom on Saturday at 9:00am for 40 minutes. To join, click
here or, load Zoom and use Meeting ID: 685 295 1296 and Password: 816262.
Looking ahead to next month, do visit the pop-up Christmas Bookshop that will be at Red House Farm, Fen Lane, Stowmarket IP14 5EG on 10-11 November.
Finally, if you would like to set up regular giving to St John's or make a one-off gift, you can do so using the
Parish Giving Scheme.
In Christ,
Peter
