Next Sunday is the feast of Candlemas. To celebrate it, the 10:30am service will be an all age Christingle. This is a great service to invite friends to, especially if they have children. If a Christingle is not your thing, then there is a short service of Holy Communion at 9:00am.

The next Men's Breakfast will take place on Saturday 15 February at 8:30am in the Church Room. Please sign up at the back of church or email elmswellrector@gmail.com.

Sponsorship for Phearak: Our sponsorship funds for Phearak Moeng, the teenager we supports in Phnom Penn, Cambodia, are getting rather low. If you would like to contribute, please contact (Mike Schofield) or place a donation in an envelope marked "Phearak" and pass to Peter.

Please note that important building works begin at St John's this week and that scaffolding will be put up round the church.

On Sunday 23 March at 3:15pm there is a fundraising event for Mercy Ships with poems, stories, and the church band. Refreshments provided. Entry is free, but donations to the work of Mercy Ships will be appreciated. Mercy Ships deploys hospital ships to some of the poorest countries in the world, delivering vital, free healthcare to people in desperate need – find out more here.
