Christmas News (17 December 2024)

Dear friends,

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
John 1:9

If you missed either the Sunday morning service, when Gavin spoke powerfully on John 1:5-9, or the lovely Carols By Candlelight service, you can catch up on our YouTube channel. Thank you to all who have decorated the church, helped with refreshments and provided music. A special thanks to Song Circle for joining us on Sunday evening.

Next Sunday's 10:30am service includes the Lord's Supper and our focus will be on John 1:14. Sunday School will be looking at the next part of the Christmas story.

Carol Singing outside the Wesley with the Salvation Army band is this Wednesday 18 December at 6:30pm.

The funeral of Dorothy Bridge will take place at St John’s on Friday 20 December at 2:00pm. An online obituary is here

On Christmas Eve afternoon, the annual family nativity takes place at 3:30pm.

Our "Midnight" carol service with Communion on Christmas Eve now takes place at the earlier time of 8:30pm (which enables us to see in Midnight in Bethlehem).

The Christmas Day celebration service is at 10:00am and children are encouraged to bring along a present they have opened.

You are very welcome to join the online weekly church prayer meeting, which is on Zoom on Saturday at 9:00am for 40 minutes. You do not need to pray out loud – we’d love to see you. Join us by clicking here or, load Zoom and use Meeting ID: 685 295 1296 and Password: 816262.

In Christ,

Peter
