Dear friends,
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made.
John 1:1-3If you missed Sunday’s service, you can watch it on our
YouTube channel.
There are services in both the morning and evening next Sunday. At the 10:30am service, our focus will be on John 1:5-9 and Sunday School will be looking at the Christmas story. Carols by Candlelight is at 6:30pm. This is a great service to invite people to and the Song Circle choir will be joining us. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the Church Room afterwards.
Carol Singing outside the Wesley with the Salvation Army band will take place on Wednesday 18 December at 6:30pm. Mince pies and mulled wine will also be in abundance there.
All are welcome at a short memorial service for baby Eve Hart on Tuesday 10th December at 14:30 at St. Mary's Church, Little Finborough, IP14 2LG. We hope this will be live-streamed on the St. John’s Elmswell Facebook page, and afterwards to be posted on YouTube. The church is small and there is limited parking so please block each other in or park on Bildeston Road.
The funeral of Dorothy Bridge will take place at St John’s on Friday 20 December at 2:00pm.
A reminder that there are 2
Christmas cards on the notice board at the front of church. Rather than spending lots of money on cards for each other, please sign these with a greeting to the church family and place a donation with the money saved in the basket, which will go to Tearfund.
There is also a card for
Phearak, our sponsored child in Cambodia, at the back of church – please do sign this with a Christmas greeting.
You are very welcome to join the online weekly
church prayer meeting, which is on Zoom on Saturday at 9:00am for 40 minutes. You do not need to pray out loud – we’d love to see you. Join us by clicking
here or, load Zoom and use Meeting ID: 685 295 1296 and Password: 816262.
In Christ,
Peter
