News from St John's (including Lesley's hedgehogs)

Dear friends,

When the Magi saw the star, they were overjoyed.
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary,
and they bowed down and worshiped him.
Then they opened their treasures and presented him
with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:10-11

If you missed the service on Sunday (celebrating the coming of the Wise Men to Bethlehem), you can catch up on our YouTube channel.

Next Sunday we start a new series looking at the first 6 chapters of Mark's gospel. The service will include the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday School also restarts on Sunday and will looking at the ministry of John the Baptist.

If you have one of the hedgehogs Lesley Clarke made during lockdown, please bring it along to her memorial service tomorrow at 10:30am. We thought this would be a nice way to remember her clever craftwork and generosity.

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Richard Gooding is at 2:00pm on Friday 12 January (following a private cremation in the morning). Please keep the family in your prayers and pray for continued healing for Louise's fractured leg.

Janet Baker is very grateful for all the cards and messages of support. She remains in hospital and the family request that we only text or WhatsApp her. Please do not visit or phone. Please continue to pray for her healing and for the family and medics as they seek the way forward.

The weekly church prayer meeting is on Zoom on Saturday at 9:00am for 40 minutes. You are welcome to join us by clicking here or, load Zoom and use Meeting ID: 685 295 1296 and Password: 816262.

With every blessing in Christ,

Peter
