News Update - 19 October 2021

Dear friends,

"O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I pray to you."
Psalm 141:1

In case you have not yet heard, we are really that all of Ernest's children now have places in local schools in the Telford area. Precious and Emmanuel were finally allocated a place last week at Holy Trinity Academy. Please thank God for their places and pray for them as they now need to catch up on several weeks' work!

We heard several encouraging reasons why to pray and things we should be praying for from Psalm 141 on Sunday. As suggested on Sunday, why not use it as a basis for you own praying, this week. I particularly loved the way it dovetails so neatly with the Lord's Prayer. In case you missed the service, you can catch up here.

Sunday 24 October (Bible Sunday) and 31 October (All Hallows' Eve)

Many apologies, but please note the service will not be streamed this coming Sunday (24 October) at 10:30am. There will be no Zoom Sunday School either.

Both will be back the following Sunday, which will include a reflection about Halloween.

Zoom Quiz Night - Saturday 30 October 7:00pm

This month's Zoom Quiz Night is drawing near. This fundraising evening is just £5 per person and promises to be great fun. We are organising teams of up to 6 people and can easily allocate you to a team without you leaving your house (through the magic of Zoom Breakout Rooms). Please let John Evans know if you are interested on 01449 781251 or email Johnlevans2020@outlook.com

A Time to Remember and a Time to Give Thanks

On Saturday 6 November at 3:00pm, you are invited to a short service called A Time To Remember and a Time to Give Thanks at St John's, where we remember the passing of loved ones and honour their memory. The service consists of readings, three hymns, a short reflection, the reading out of the names of those we are remembering, and the lighting of candles. The service will be followed by some refreshments.

God bless,

Peter
