Light Party - an alternative to Halloween
On Thursday 31 October at 4.30pm we are having a Light Party in church - an alternative to Halloween celebration. Games,
crafts, dressing up, singing and food.
Together with Wetherden Baptist church, we are putting on a Light Party on 31 October. Children and families are under so much pressure to 'celebrate' Halloween nowadays, the commercial pressure from supermarkets is difficult for many of us, and the scary, gory aspect of Halloween celebrations can be frightening and confusing for children. The Light Party offers an alternative, open to families with children of all ages (although activities are aimed at ages up to 9), so that everyone can enjoy dressing up (princesses, superheroes, animals and anything else on a 'happy' theme, no scary costumes please) and having all the fun of a party with none of the scariness.
This is a free event, open to all, but registration is essential for catering purposes.
